Dear Members and Friends,

It is that time of year when the Sri Lankan Association in Geneva (SLAG) organizes its annual summer picnic.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to organize a SLAG get-together in 2020 and 2021.  However, this year, SLAG is happy to announce that the annual summer picnic will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

At this year’s picnic, there will be something for the whole family.  There will be some socially distanced activities as well as a cricket match as per tradition, with prizes and surprises for everyone.

As in the past, this year’s summer picnic will be a “potluck” provided by our generous members. SLAG will provide soft drinks and water, cups, plates free of charge and will arrange the BBQ grill equipment. Therefore, we reach out to you to contribute generously to the “potluck” to make the event a success. Please note that bringing a dish for the potluck is not obligatory, and that any assistance in any other form will be most welcome.  The most important thing for us is your participation!

Details of the summer picnic are given below:

Date and time:  Saturday August 27, 2022, from 10h to 16h

Venue :  Parc Sarasin (Palexpo Parc), chemin edouard-sarasin, 1218, le Grand Saconnex.

Meal:  Potluck (eg. Meat and vegies for the BBQ, milk rice, kadala, manioc, chicken/fish curry, lunu miris, seeni sambol, salads, pasta, rice, bread, deserts etc.)

Beverages:  Non?alcoholic beverages will be provided free-of-charge. Beer and wine will not be sold at the event. Therefore, bring along your alcohol.

Entrance will be free-of-charge.

In light of COVID-19, we will be adhering to guidelines provided by the Swiss authorities to ensure that this event is safe for everyone.  You are encouraged to bring your face masks for the safety of yourself and others.  Please make sure to keep a reasonable distance from other guests as much as you can.
