30^th ANNIVERSARY GALA DINNER DANCE – 13 DECEMBER 2014

It is with great pleasure that we bring to your attention that our Association is due to celebrate 30 years of existence this year. During these three decades SLAG has served it’s mandate being the foremost organization in Geneva bringing together Sri Lankans irrespective of race, religion, class or creed!  SLAG was and still is the leading forum for promoting cultural and social ties among the Sri Lankan community in Geneva.

It is in this light the current Executive Committee of SLAG decided to celebrate this great occasion with our members and their friends in a fitting manner. So together we will celebrate the occasion at a gala dinner dance!

DATE- 13^th DECEMBER 2014;  TIME- from 6.30 pm onwards  

VENUE- Salle de Fetes, 37 rue Ancienne  1227 , Carouge                                 

In a way, this event will also coincide with our annual ‘End of Year Party’  Let us give you a foretaste of what is in store for you that day.

In order to cater to all our respected members of SLAG and to their friends this year we have booked a hall that can hold 500 guests paving the way for an international audience; To put you in the right mood we will have a top notch musical band from Switzerland, ‘Soul Image’ together with a versatile DJ giving you top dancing music; We will dish out a sumptuous buffet dinner with typical Sri Lankan cuisine; Many prizes and surprizes by way of a host of competitions are lined up for you;

Is that all? No, we have not forgotten those gallant people who have provide leadership and guided the destinies of the association thus far. All past Presidents will be felicitated on this occasion and we would be grateful if you could confirm to us the attendance of such past Presidents and/or if such past President is not living or cannot be present , if he/she will be represented by a family member to receive his/her token of appreciation.

We take pleasure to invite all Members of our Association to attend this momentous occasion. For all  Members the tickets are priced at 40 CHF per person. Children under 12 Free of Charge. Children from 12-18 tickets are 30 CHF and over 18 years are considered as adults. You are most welcome to bring in your friends/guests (non- members) who will be charged 50 CHF per person.

If you may recall when we took office , we embarked on a ‘membership drive’ in  a bid to gather the much needed momentum for the Association . I am delighted to record a substantial increase in the membership which was very much evident at the ‘Sri Lankan New Year party’ held in  March this year. So much so, we had to turn down some of our members who contacted us at the last minute for tickets due to all tickets being sold out.

Hence, we wish to remind our valued members to book your tickets early this time to avoid disappointment. If you may wish to reserve a table for your family and friends kindly inform that in advance too.
