It is Summer time! And it’s time for our Summer Picnic! This time around we want to make this the ‘Family outing’ , the way it used to be in the good old days!

WHEN- 9th AUGUST 2014 from 10 am onwards ; WHERE- Bout du Monde Cricket ground

The event this year will have action for the whole family! Many ‘fun games’ are organized along with the regular ‘soft ball’ Cricket tournament. The difference this year will be that it is not only Cricket that will be the main attraction but other activities and competitions as well. Table tennis, Tug-a-War, Lime and spoon race, three legged race, musical chairs, Fancy dress and many more competitions with prizes and surprises are in store for you! This is solely done with the intention of attracting all the Members of our Association. Yes, we look forward to entertaining the entire family , young and old , male and female! After all, it is ‘family picnic’! The usual BBQ will be dished out with soft drinks FREE OF CHARGE!

However, as you know the ‘summer picnic’ in the years gone by was done on the basis of ‘pot luck’ provided by our members. It is so much fun to taste this, that and the other generously brought food by the members. So in reviving this old practice, our Secretary, Lalantha who is in charge of this event will reach out to you to solicit your assistance. Please note that it is not compulsory but any support/help is most welcome. However the most important thing is your participation.

We take pleasure to invite all Members of our Association to participate in the Summer Picnic! It is absolutely Free of Charge for all Members! You are most welcome to bring in your friends/guests (non- members) but a nominal charge of 20 CHF per person will be charged for non-members. Likewise , all those who wish to play in the Cricket tournament will have to be members of SLAG as we have seen this tournament taking a competitive nature with many ‘non- members’ brought in solely for Cricket. We do not encourage this and hence the above condition for SLAG membership.

If you may recall when we took office , we embarked on a ‘membership drive’ in a bid to gather the much needed momentum for the Association . I am delighted to record a substantial increase in the membership which was very much evident at the ‘Sri Lankan New Year party’ held in late March this year. A warm welcome all our new members !

COME ONE! COME ALL! …..Let’s get together and Picnic in Sri Lankan style!
